Back to School Supply Drive

Back to School Supply Drive

“Back to School” is a time that always brings mixed feelings. Most children are sad to see the summer end, but are eager to be reunited with old friends. Many of the foster care children we serve, however, will not be seeing old friends again.  For them, there may be very little to anticipate when returning “back to school.” We hope the promise of new school supplies will bring a smile to the faces of these youngsters.

Child Link solicits help from area corporations to donate new school supplies for our foster children.  NBC 5, the Chicago States Attorney’s Office, Much Shelist, and others have generously donated school supplies.  We are so grateful to our donors for their support!

Supplies needed: Backpacks, notebooks, trapper keepers, folders, 3-ring binders, pens, pencils, glue sticks, index cards, color pencil sets, loose leaf paper, lunch boxes, rulers, scissors, thin highlighters, etc.

Please consider helping our children by stuffing a backpack filled with all of the necessities they’ll need to return to school. We want to provide our kids with all the tools they’ll need to go to school and learn. Thank you for helping the children at Child Link begin the new school year with hope and the great anticipation of building new friendships and finding their voices through education.
